Brazilian Emerald Carved Pieces and Art Deco Jewelry Designs Highlight Akiba Antiques’ Upcoming Sale

Published September 27th, 2022 by Akiba Galleries

Schist is a medium-grained rock that hosts various gemstones, including the emerald. Gem materials found in its metamorphic form are heavily included. These natural impurities/trappings are clearly visible owing to its transparent character. A large carved Brazilian emerald schist horse sculpture is a key highlight of the upcoming sale by Akiba Antiques. It depicts a horse on rugged base with flowing mane and facial details. The piece has two emerald spots at the rear. Another noteworthy Brazilian emerald lot is a monumental matrix crystal specimen on a wooden carved stand. The piece measures approximately 24 inches x 24 inches on stand. Brazilian emeralds are prized for their exceptionally rich green hue. Two interesting Art Deco jewelry pieces also lead the listing. One is a Van Cleef & Arpels star sapphire onyx and diamond ring while the other is a French platinum diamond bracelet. Both the designs exude bold sculptural fearlessness and geometric symmetry, typical of the Art Deco style.

The sale includes a 20th century Supreme X Louis Vuitton red leather baseball jacket. This limited edition piece features classic Louis Vuitton signatures with logos and motifs from Supreme. To view the complete catalog and register to bid online, visit LiveAuctioneers.
