For our upcoming November 9th sale, we are pleased to present this exquisite collection of six oil on canvas paintings by Gonzlao Torrico Prado.Born in Cochabamba Bolivia in 1956, Torrico always had an innate fascination with the indigenous populations throughout Central and South America.

Although born and studied in Bolivia, Torrico worked in Mexico, painting with expressionistic aesthetics, rural Mexico. It is not only the intricately detialed faces that pervade his works, but how single strands from traditional clothing blow in the Michoacan gusts, how the paint is seen chipping from the walls of the Cuetzalan Puebla, and how two woman in traditional Juchitan clothing discuss while buying watermelons stacked on crates.
